The application range and requirements of tantalum sheets, tantalum strips, and tantalum foil are different. Therefore, the processing methods and the selection of raw materials are different. Generally applied to the electronic industry tantalum plate, tantalum strip, tantalum foil, the product specification is small, the consumption is less, often choose powder metallurgy method to get the blank, and applied to other industries, large specification tantalum plate, strip casting ingot by vacuum smelting method.
1. Ingots are also made by forging ingots/billets into various tantalum materials. It is easy to react with oxygen and nitrogen at high temperature, which not only produces loose oxides on the surface, but also allows oxygen to infiltrate into the matrix, making it difficult to process. Therefore, in addition to hot forging (heating temperature is 350-400℃), tantalum can be heated naked in the air. Certain protective measures should be taken for high-temperature forging heating, which is mainly heated in an electric furnace or vacuum furnace filled with inert gas. Metal cladding method and coating method can also be used for protection, among which coating method is preferred. For high purity tantalum ingot, it has good plasticity at room temperature and can be cold forged. But for the general purity of tantalum ingots, the use of hot forging or high temperature forging.
2.Rolling Rolling is the process of plastic deformation of a metal by means of the pressure exerted by the roll. The roll is a uniform cylinder, the roll is called flat rolling, rolling with flat rolling, called flat rolling. Flat roll rolling is mainly used to produce semi-finished products such as strip and foil.
